Young Chamber Update September
The Young Chamber has had a big couple of months!
There was an event held at SEAFM to celebrate the continued sponsorship and provided education on public speaking. There was also an event held at Paradise Rum to introduce the new sponsorship from HRM Contracting & Consulting. This event was themed around leadership and welcomed guest speaker, Kris Carver from Entag. The Young Chamber most recently held a morning coffee event at Wine & Nine which focused on mental health. Those in attendance were presented to by Leon Stensholm, from Body and Mind by Leon and encouraged conversation and connection amongst our young professionals on the Sunshine Coast. Earlier in the month, we were kindly invited by our newest community partner, Wishlist to represent the Young Chamber at their annual Wishlist Spring Carnival at the beginning of September where almost $300,000 was raised to support services within the Wishlist Centre.
The Young Chamber also signed a new sponsorship with Fenwick Collective, a local accounting firm whose founders, Brooke and Dale Fenwick, have been members of the young chamber since 2021. This is an organic, encouraged and welcomed evolution to see members become sponsors. September also saw us support Polo by the Sea, an event that was in partnership with Coastline BMW and the Sunshine Coast Council, both supporters of the chamber. Additionally, we promoted FWD FEST, supported by the council as this aligned with the Coast’s future leaders and industries. Finally, there was an ambassador drive launched and have welcomed Tara McKean and David Goldsworthy to our growing ambassador team. They are both long-time supporters of the Young Chamber and eager to help evolve the chamber within our region Next month, the Young Chamber will be hosting an event with community partner, Wishlist, at their new Wishlist Centre.
The Young Chamber would also like to take the opportunity to congratulate one of our executive team, Bronte Cresswell who was recently awarded the Sunshine Coast’s Young Business Woman of the Year by the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network. We’re so proud to have Bronte on our team as she continues to make waves in the local business community.
