Sod Turning Walker Corp’s SOL Project
Our members may have felt a few rumbles lately in the Maroochydore City Centre – that’s the sound of progress as we welcome the latest addition to our ever-growing skyline.
In a landmark development for Maroochydore, construction began in May on SOL by Walker, the next exciting chapter in the ongoing evolution of our vibrant City Centre.
As one of the Maroochydore Chamber of Commerce’s major sponsors, Walker Corporation has once again demonstrated its commitment to our region’s future. The commencement of SOL signalled a bold new chapter in the transformation of Maroochydore into a vibrant, smart, and connected city.
The first 19-storey tower will include 112 high-end residences with sweeping views of the coast and hinterland, along with luxury amenities and direct access to parks, eateries, and retail in the City Centre. It’s a forward-thinking development that strengthens both our community and economy.
SOL by Walker received strong support from all levels of government, with Sunshine Coast Council and the Queensland Government both championing the project. Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Rosanna Natoli described it as a proud milestone in our journey to becoming Australia’s most progressive regional hub.
This development forms part of a broader vision that aligns with infrastructure planning for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It’s a timely and strategic boost that ensures Maroochydore remains a leading destination to live, work, and invest.
Our Chamber is proud to see our city advancing through innovative partnerships like this. Congratulations to Walker Corporation and all involved in bringing this exciting project to life.
