Where do you live?
Minyama
Tell us about your family?
My parents, two brothers and I are based on the Sunshine Coast and have been for the past 20 years. We live within five minutes of each other, so no excuses not to catch up.
Favourite location on the Sunshine Coast?
Mooloolaba. If I lived in Mooloolaba, I wouldn’t have any reason to leave. I love the beach, the cafes and restaurants and the boardwalk for post-work walks with my dog. I am on a first-name basis with too many local businesses.
Which local person inspires you?
Georgie Kollis is my biggest role model. I met her on my first day working in finance. We very quickly became close professionally and personally. Although we technically no longer work together day to day, we run the Like-minded Women’s Network together and I speak to her almost every day.
Favourite local business?
Colombian Coffee Co has been my go-to brew for the past 10 years. I stumbled across it when they first opened. I never imagined a coffee shop would turn into a full-blown community. These days, I can’t go in without seeing a familiar face and having a 30-minute conversation.
Best thing about living on the Coast?
Community. If you can’t tell by now, I love to surround myself with like-minded people and the Coast is just that.
How long have you been a Chamber member?
I have just joined. I have been meaning to join for ages. I am also a member of the Sunshine Coast Young Chamber.
What’s the best thing about being a Chamber member?
Community and like-minded professionals to learn from.
Favourite ChamberCast with the President and Pep?
Sounds like I have loads to learn. Having known Pep for the last year, I can safely say already I will enjoy them all.
Favourite Chamber event?
The only chamber event I have been to yet is the Sunshine Coast Drive Night at The Big Kart Track – although I was cheering on the other team at the time, haha.
How can the Coast be improved?
I love the local feel of the Coast, and it is something I don’t want to lose due to expansion. It is important, as new areas are developed, that we should focus on creating solid communities early, rather than concrete jungles connecting the beach to the city.
What excites you about the future of the region?
Sport has always been a significant part of my life. These days, I am a competitive cyclist, so I am very excited for the road event to come to us as part of Brisbane 2032. The roads I get to ride every morning will be put on the world map.
