Where do you live?

Maroochydore. It’s perfect for us.

Can you tell us about your family?

I have a son who is 9 and a daughter who is 6. My husband Harry and I have been married for nearly 14 years. My parents and other siblings live in Malaysia.

Favourite location on the Sunshine Coast?

I love the beach at Alexandra Headland. It’s my favourite place to go for morning walks or to cycle with the children on the weekend. It’s full of energy and very peaceful in the mornings.

Which local person inspires you?

Right now, anyone along the Coast who is a small business owner is an inspiration. The pressures of working through the current cost-of-living issues are not for the faint-hearted, and we should all recognise and learn from each other’s strengths and contributions.

Favourite local business?

There are so many, as we partner with local businesses and buy locally when we can. If I had to choose one: Market Bistro. My husband and I love the food and the team led by Simon & Marco.

Best thing about living on the Coast?

I grew up in rural Malaysia, surrounded by plantations and nature. The Sunshine Coast reminds me of that, with the added bonus of the ocean.

How long have you been a Chamber member?

We recently joined, so we are still newbies!

What’s the best thing about being a Chamber member?

For us, it is about meeting local business leaders, connecting and becoming more integrated into the business fabric of the Coast.

Favourite ChamberCast with the President and Pep?

I am slowly working my way through the podcasts. Of those I have listened to, my current favourite is the one with Dr Leon Stensholm.

Favourite Chamber event?

I enjoyed the recent coffee morning at the UniSC Thompson Institute.

How can the Sunshine Coast be improved?

The Sunshine Coast would benefit from a clear, comprehensive transport strategy – one that looks beyond short-to-medium-term fixes and supports the region’s long-term growth.

What excites you about the future of the region?

The business and social opportunities that the Coast offers.

Favourite holiday destination?

I have been fortunate to travel the world – Harry even more so. However, we both keep coming back to Vietnam. It’s visually stunning, peaceful and perfect for us.
