Where do you live?
I relocated from Brisbane to Maroochydore two-and-a-half years ago.
Tell us about your family?
Husband Sheldon, two adult children and two very spoilt Jack Russell-cross dogs.
Favourite location on the Sunshine Coast?
It’s hard to pick a favourite. We enjoy going to dinner at Buderim Tavern and walking the dogs at North Shore. We recently discovered The Barn at Flaxton.
Which local person inspires you?
Naomi Oyston, from ShineX Nexus, is a Certified Global Speaker and runs her own business working with companies to bridge capability gaps, using AI-powered solutions. Naomi also gives her time to support fundraising for the Cancer Council, using her personal experience of aggressive breast cancer to share the powerful life lessons she took away from this experience. Naomi is incredibly positive, engaging and passionate about making a difference in people’s lives, personally and professionally.
Favourite local business?
Erbacher’s Fruit and Vegetables is our local favourite and not just for the great quality produce. The staff are always super helpful. Also, the seafood van that is parked up at Erbacher’s. I highly recommend its seafood marinara mix.
Best thing about living on the Coast?
Sea breezes in summer and easy access to the water. It’s also a short ride on the Vespa to be in the surrounding ranges, away from the crowds in holiday season.
How long have you been a Chamber member?
A year.
What’s the best thing about being a Chamber member?
Every event I go to, I meet someone new and people have been very welcoming. As a solo operator, it’s great to be able to have conversations with other business owners and share ideas and knowledge to support each other.
Favourite ChamberCast with the President and Pep?
The ChamberCast with Karen Neuendorf OAM was fascinating. The family history in the area and the contribution the family has made, was an incredibly informative listen.
Favourite Chamber event?
I enjoy the Coffee + Connect events and next I’m looking forward to Lunch with Alexa Leary and After Hours with Malcolm Wood.
How can the Sunshine Coast be improved?
Improved public transport connection to rail for access to Brisbane: this is a must for the Olympic activities coming our way.
What excites you about the future of the region?
There is a lot of diversity of business coming into the Coast and that lifts the profile of the region, which makes it attractive for national and global businesses to base themselves here.
Favourite holiday destination?
Being NZ born, I have to say the South Island of NZ.
