Sunshine Coast 2032 Taskforce
On Wednesday 2nd March the Sunshine Coast 2032 Taskforce Event was held at the University of the Sunshine Coast Auditorium. This opportunity was facilitated by Regional Development Australia Sunshine Coast with the purpose of building a Terms of Reference and to discuss the Taskforce sub-committees.
Over 100 local representatives from Arts & Culture, Business and Tourism, Community & Volunteers, Environment & Volunteers, Environment & Sustainability, Sport & Recreation and infrastructure attended. Our Chamber’s Membership lead Jakki Goodall, represented the Maroochydore Chamber of Commerce and was involved in the Business and Tourism group discussion.
The focus from each group was to produce a collective understanding of what was required from an independent body responsible for maximising opportunities relating to the 2032 Olympics and Paralympic Games for the Sunshine Coast and Noosa region.
This resulted in a summary of three main areas; the purpose for the Taskforce, what activities it should perform and a profile to help identify potential members of the Taskforce.
HRM Consulting has been contracted to manage this independent recruitment process, working closely with Regional Development Australia Sunshine Coast. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this exciting opportunity further, please contact Sally Desch on sally@hrmcc.com.au.
